The baking biologist is a molecular biology PhD student who works with plants, and is making her first foray into science writing. She also writes a little bit for Experimentation magazine. She mainly does (or tries to do) bits of genetics and protein work, and has plans to feed single-handedly the world (maybe via science, maybe via baking). She is evangelical about parkrun and the Race for Life and is a non-atheist, of the Christian variety. She also sings at each and every opportunity (no really… everything from Bach to barbershop via Bruce Springsteen) and will attempt to play any stringed instrument that you give her. She also loves baking, though her experiments in the kitchen are approximately as successful as those in her PhD.
